Senior Resource Connection
Aging with dignity in the place you call home
We believe everyone, regardless of income level or social status, deserves
to feel valued and empowered to live at home where they are comfortable
and happy for as long as safely possible.
Senior Resource Connection is taking all precautions to protect the clients we serve and our employees during the Coronavirus crisis. We have taken steps in our Meals on Wheels programs to limit face-to-face contact, while still delivering meals to home-bound seniors. Our Visiting Home Care department has trained nurses and STNAs that use universal precautions and are monitoring the health of the senior population that we serve. There are no plans to discontinue our services as they are critical to seniors in the community, now more than ever. Numerous clients and funders are either requesting or requiring that we move from fresh, hot home delivered meals to frozen or shelf stable meals to limit daily community contact that may place seniors at risk. Like many other non-profits and small business that are affected by this, we had no way to plan or budget for this situation. The closures and restrictions, while necessary for public health and safety, put us in a difficult situation financially. There could also be staffing shortages because school closures will have a significant impact on our employees with young children, many of who are single parents. While we are committed to providing Meals on Wheels, home healthcare and many other services to local seniors as long as we are able, we could use financial support from the community to help us through this crisis. Senior Resource Connection has been serving the Miami Valley since 1956 and we truly believe in our mission to serve an often overlooked population with care and compassion.
